Class-action lawsuit filed against national chain of LASIK centers

By Staff in Categories: LASIK

A class-action lawsuit filed 3/17/10 in Greenville accuses a national chain of laser eye surgery (LASIK) centers of operating on patients who didn't qualify for the procedure and then trying to cover up what happened to avoid getting sued. "TLC created two files -- one that the patient would see and one that management would see," explained Fayssoux. "In one instance, they would tell the patient their ocular health is good. ...At the same time, what we would like to call the 'left side' of the file, clearly indicated that the patient had ectasia -- that they knew they weren't candidates for surgery."
