How much is Lasik eye surgery?

I'm 16 and have 20/50 vision and have glasses, but they are a nuisance on account in some situation they aren't completely available and I find them annoying and unattractive. I've tried contacts and they aren't for me so don't suggest that. I heard Lasik surgery is about 1000$ to do, but there is different kids of surgery or something and there is a chance that your eyes can become worse or something? Can someone please give me all the details and price of these surgeries?
