What happens at a lasik consultation?

I am thinking about getting lasik surgery. I want to go in for a consultation but i am a little apprehensive about the whole thing. What exactly do they do during the consultation-like what tests do you have to get on your eyes,etc. Does going for a consultation mean you have to get the surgery?
